Yo! It’s time to break out your neon bangles, leg warmers, your pin-covered denim jackets, your parachute pants, scrunchies, and lots of hairspray. Wear a bandana over your mullet, and upgrade those totally tubular air-guitar skills to real uke skills! This month weāre taking it totally back to the 1980ās for our play-along jam.
Dressing up 80ās style is, like, totally encouraged but not required. You can channel Madonna, Devo, Miami Vice⦠or just take a chill pill and show up with a uke and a smile. (see below for easy 80s costume ideas) š¤Ŗ
Dude! You know what to expect?: Only a totally beginner-friendly jam! ā yea, lots of easy chords and check it out: Tutorials and play-along videos for almost every song to scope out before the jam!

š Some Wicked Easy 80ās Costume Combos
1. The Rocker
- Band tee (any faded concert shirt works)
- Ripped jeans (scissors + old denim = instant authenticity)
- Bandana tied around your head or wrist
- Sunglasses (the darker, the better)
2. The Workout Warrior
- Leg warmers (cut up old socks if you donāt have them)
- Bright leggings or bike shorts
- Oversized sweatshirt with the neck cut out (Flashdance style)
- Sweatband on head or wrists
3. The Preppy Kid
- Polo shirt with the collar popped
- Sweater tied around the shoulders
- Khakis or pastel pants
- Boat shoes or loafers (bonus points if sockless)
4. The Mall Queen
- Acid-wash jeans or denim skirt
- Off-the-shoulder top or oversized sweater
- Huge scrunchie or teased hair
- Chunky plastic jewelry (bright bangles, hoops, anything neon)
5. The Punk/New Wave Rebel
- Black leather jacket
- Spiky hair (hairspray does wonders)
- Safety pins as accessories (on jacket, earrings, wherever)
