You’re always welcome at our Monthly Jams and most workshops—no membership required.
But if you’ve ever thought, “Wow, I really love this community,” becoming a member is one of the best ways to dive deeper, support the group, and get a handful of great perks along the way.

- Membership gives you full access to our entire Strummers Music Library—over 370 lovingly crafted ukulele charts. Many come with strum patterns, riffs, solos, and little musical details you won’t find elsewhere. It’s like opening a treasure chest of music that keeps growing.
- If performing lights a spark in you, membership lets you join our Performance Group, where you can play for local events and spread the joy of music.
- You’ll also save money: discounts on every guest-artist workshop and concert, plus 10% off purchases at Stu Fuchs’ Ukulele Zen online store. (Thanks, Stu!)
- And once you’re a member, you can come to jams and workshops without worrying about having cash for “the donation hat.” You’re always welcome to contribute to Strummer programs and scholarships, but you’ll never feel obligated.
- As our website expands with tutorials and future resources, members always get first access.
- Most importantly, you’ll help sustain and grow a community that brings people together—people who love learning, laughing, singing, and making music. As a member, you also get a voice: you can vote for (or run for) the Salt Lake Strummers Board and help shape the organization’s future.
Recent Guest Artists (Membership Makes This Possible)
Over the past few years, our members have helped us bring an incredible lineup of guest artists to Salt Lake City — musicians and educators who inspire, teach, and energize our community. Thanks to membership support, we’ve welcomed standout performers such as:
- Stu Fuchs (Ukulele Zen) — a Grammy-winning player known for joyful, meditative music and world-class instruction.
- Jiggy with Viggy — whose upbeat style and rhythms brought a whole new groove to our jams.
- Jim D’Ville — a master educator who taught us to play by ear and listen more deeply.
- Danielle Ate the Sandwich — beloved songwriter, performer, and all-around creative spark.
- Lil Rev — a tradition-builder and roots-music expert whose harmonica and ukulele workshops have become some of our favorites.
- Ray Cygrymus — the dynamic performer who showed us how to really rock our ukuleles!
- The Birdwatchers — a wildly fun and talented trio who helped take our vocals to a new level.
Every one of these workshops, concerts, and learning experiences happened because of the support of our members. Membership doesn’t just keep the lights on — it helps us bring world-class musicians to our community so we can all learn, grow, and share the joy of making music.
Cost
Membership renews every January and is $96 per year ($8 a month).
If you join mid-year, we simply prorate the cost so you pay only for the months remaining.
