November Jam: Highway to the Comfort Zone!
Beginner-Friendly, Everybody-Welcome Ukulele Fun!
Ready for some ukulele fun without all those crazy-looking chords, impossible-to-pronounce names, or the feeling that everybody else knows something you don’t?
Well, buckle up, grab your uke, and join the Salt Lake Strummers as we take the Highway to the Comfort Zone!
This month’s jam is especially geared toward newer players. We’re keeping things relaxed, playing familiar songs, sharing helpful tips, and building confidence one strum at a time.
And yes, we’re even going to tackle that pesky Bb chord. (To Bb or not to Bb? That is the question!) We’ll share a few tricks to make it a little less intimidating.
But Wait! Experienced Players, This Means YOU, Too!
Just because we’re calling this a beginner-friendly jam doesn’t mean we’re putting a speed limit on your ukulele skills!
Whether you’ve been playing for three weeks or thirty years, there’s always something to learn, a technique to polish, or a familiar song to enjoy in a new way. Sometimes the simplest songs give us the best opportunities to work on rhythm, timing, dynamics, and musical expression. And you might actually be able to help the newbie sitting next to you!
And let’s face it: Making music with friends is fun at ANY skill level!
One of the things that makes the Salt Lake Strummers special is our welcoming, supportive, and completely non-judgmental community. Nobody’s keeping score. Nobody’s grading your chords. And if you play a wrong note, there’s a good chance the person next to you just played a wrong note, too!
All skill levels are welcome, and all skill levels belong.

Bring your ukulele, your enthusiasm, and maybe a little patience with that Bb chord.
