Workshop: Ukulele Care with Carla

Got a dirty ukulele—or one with strings that haven’t been changed since the day you bought it? This hands-on, interactive workshop is designed to help you restore the vim and vigor to that amazing little four‑stringed instrument.

Workshop Details

📅 Date: Wednesday, April 8th
⏰ Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Whitmore Library –  2197 Fort Union Blvd, Cottonwood Heights,

During the workshop, we’ll cover:

  • When it’s time to change your ukulele strings
  • String options and how to choose the right set for your instrument
  • Different restringing methods based on bridge style

(Please note: strings will not be changed on your ukulele during the workshop; however, Carla will demonstrate restringing techniques using two strings on a ukulele.)

Participants will also have the opportunity to:

  • Condition the fretboard, bridge, and body of their ukulele
  • Learn best practices for caring for a ukulele in Utah’s dry climate
  • Create a custom, DIY ukulele humidifier to take home

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, you’ll leave with practical skills, a better‑sounding instrument, and greater confidence in caring for your ukulele.
